As promised, I amped up the routine today. Started with the normal round of PB&J (thanks Kev) — i.e. Planks, Burpees, and Jumping-jacks) then did the ascending set from 10-15 reps but this time removed the 6lb from the rotation and just went between the 8lb and 10lb sledgehammers. It felt significantly more tiring and I’m already sore. HRM says I completed the workout in 30:39 (which is about par for me recently) and averaged 144 bpm and maxed at 159bpm. Mixed bag. That’s a high average but the max isn’t as high as I’ve seen it. 167 is my highest ever sledging, fyi, my highest ever recorded was 171 on a sprint at the tail end of a 4 mile walk. I’ll give this a minimum of 2 weeks at this level.
